In the Media Center - Week of March 12th

It's that time of year again ......
Kindergarten
The students will meet Moose and see the range of emotions he feels during the alphabet variety show.  With Zebra as the Director, Moose starts out excited, then gets impatient, then disappointed, then angry, then sad, and finally, happy again!!.   Next week, the students will decorate letters for the first graders to hang up around the school and in addition, a picture of the moose will be hidden somewhere for the students to find each day.  The moose will not be hidden this week as I need a chance for all students to hear the story.
First Grade
In first grade I will be trying something new.  Students who were at Winnona Park last year are already familiar with this book so I thought they could "act" in a "Readers Theater".  As our first grade classes are about the size of the alphabet, each student will be assigned a letter.  As the book is read, they will stand up on their page to represent their letter and the emotion that Moose is experiencing.  Next week, they will decorate letters, as well as hang up letters made by kindergartners around the school.

Second and Third Grade
Following our read aloud last week, "Nerdy Birdy Tweets", students will be using Microsoft Word to type a "tweet" about our upcoming Book Fair.  Using the 140 character limit, they will type a sentence or two that could be what they like about the book fair, a book they would like to get, etc.
These will not be posted online but we will print them out.
