In the Media Center - Week of February 26

All students in kindergarten through third grade viewed this video in the media center this week.  It's a clever and age-appropriate presentation of issues which become more and more relevant each year.  It also presents a great opportunity to have discussions at home with your student.

Some of the themes of the video include: 

• do not give out personal information to people you don't know
• if you see anything online, or receive a personal message that makes you fell uncomfortable, tell a grown-up immediately
• ask a grown-up before visiting a new website
• do not meet anyone in person that you have only met online
• do not send, or post mean messages
• do not send, or post embarrassing pictures or videos without the other person's permission
• anything shared online lasts forever
• and finally, sometimes you need to turn off the screens and go outside
