Welcome to 2015 and the week of January 6th - January 9th
Kindergarten students will begin taking their library books home this week, if they would like. They do not have to - some students have plenty of their own books or books from the public library so it is fine if they would prefer to keep their Winnona Park library book in their classroom. The library books will be due on your student's library day which are as follows:
Fortenberry - Wednesday
Houston - Thursday
Pitts - Tuesday
Schanding - Tuesday
First, second and third graders will be watching the video - "Wild about Safety: Timon and Pumbaa Safety Smart Online." It is a great, age-appropriate introduction/overview to staying safe online with great advice such as not giving out personal information, not sending mean or embarrassing messages, pictures or videos, and telling a parent if you are ever uncomfortable with anything you see online or while using other technology. You can learn more about it here: http://disneywildaboutsafety.com/dwas-video/internet-safety/.
Students will have subsequent lessons on digital citizenship and internet safety.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to talk to me in the library or email izeff@csdecatur.net.
