For this school year - 2012-2013 - Winnona Park will have two computer carts with 25 computers each. One cart - Cart A(the purple cart) - will be located outside of Ms. Tolsma's classroom and the other - Cart B(the yellow cart) -, will be located outside of Ms. Sanders' classroom. We have an additional cart in the media center with additional laptop computers.
All classes who will be using the cart will go through a training session with Ms. Zeff. Teachers will also receive in instruction regarding how to reserve the carts/laptops.
1. The lock should only be used by adults. Students should not touch the lock.
2. When the cart is open, the lock should hang unlocked on the inside part of the door. For some reason, the locks are very tempting for little hands.
3. Laptop computers should always be carried one at a time like a hot pizza in a box. If you tip it sideways, the cheese will move to one side - yuk!
4. The computers are numbered with either a purple or yellow round sticker on the top. These numbers roughly correspond to the slots in the cart. The cart is made for 22 computers and we have 25 so some slots will need to be doubled or tripled.
5. Computers can either be returned to the cart in the numbered slots by the students or placed on top of the cart for the teacher to return. Classes will be trained but teachers will use their judgment to decide which students return in which manner. Mr. Johnny and Ms. Walcott will assist when they are available.
6. The sign-up schedule can be found on a clipboard on the top of each cart.
