Anything but Typical

by Nora Raleigh Baskin

The main character is Jason, a 12 year old boy with autism and it is written from his perspective. It is about his life, his experiences at school, and his experiences online when he "meets" a girl. Eventually, he and Rebecca meet in person at a writer's conference. This book could provide typical students a glimpse at what an atypical child's world might be like and encourage empathy and understanding.
