Personal Review/Selection rationale: In general, I am trying to update our fables and fairy tales(398.2) section which has an average age of 1994. Many of the titles are at a reading level well-above third grade and many contain mostly text with little illustration. John Henry is specifically noted in the standards for first grade. The only other book our collection has for John Henry was published in 1994.
