Kindergarten - We will be doing a coloring activity with a paper picture of the keyboard. Students will be identifying the letters and some of the important symbols and non-letter keys.
First Grade - First graders will doing a similar activity. Students will also begin checking out two books at a time. One book will be a choice book and one will be a book on their level. I will review the Universal Screeners to access their DRAs so that they can pick "just right" books. You may also begin sending them in small groups before school(after 7:50) and after school(they need to be out of the library by 2:20).
Second and Third Grade - Students will also be doing a coloring activity with a paper keyboard, however, they will need to color code theirs to look like the large one in the media center. They will be guessing what the various colors mean. Hint: The colors reference the fingers used for various keys.
