We started off the week with an author visit first thing Monday morning. Aaron Reynolds was very high energy and A LOT of fun. Mr. Reynolds made the announcement that Pigeon was the new President of the Library. I am still trying to figure out exactly what this means.Kindergarten and First Graders were introduced to Moose today and a very fun activity involving both grades. The first graders did the activity last year in kindergarten so this year, they get to do the first grade part. In the book, Moose experiences a variety of emotions when he thinks he has been left out of the alphabet play. Zebra finally understands and puts him in at the very end. Next week, kindergarteners will be decorating letters and first graders will be putting them up around the school. In addition, a special Z with the Moose will be "hidden" each day for the students to find. The student who finds the Z and Moose each day will get to have Moose visit their classroom.
Second and Third Graders used Capstone Interactive eBooks which they can access in the school building without a password by visiting this website - http://www.mycapstonelibrary.com/login/index.html. We currently have access to 72 books - both fiction and non-fiction. Students can read the books, or have the books read to them. At home, they will need a login and password. I have posted the login information in all third grade Google Classrooms - by teacher name. The login information can also be found on the online resources list accessible in Infinite Campus, or by contacting me at izeff@csdecatur.net.
I also found out this week that we will be having some special guests visit our school at the end of April - stay tuned !!!!!!
