In the Media Center - Week of March 21st

Kindergarten
Students explored WorldBook Kids Online - World of Animals.  They learned to search for an animal, have the text read to them, and click between tabs.  This was in preparation for an animal research project the students will be doing after spring break.  The login details for this resource can be found by logging into Infinite Campus, or by contacting Ms. Zeff at izeff@csdecatur.net.

First Grade
In addition to putting our "Moose" letters up around the school, first graders used our selection of Capstone Interactive Books to read, and listen to, books online.  Currently, our collection includes a variety of fiction and non-fiction books with some also available in paper format in the library.  The login details for this resource can be found by logging into Infinite Campus, or by contacting Ms. Zeff at izeff@csdecatur.net.

Second Grade
Second graders either worked on classroom research projects in the library or practiced typing a very special sentence - The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog - using Microsoft Word.

Third Grade
Students practiced typing "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" several times, allowing me to assess their typing skills.  I wanted to make sure they were using proper posture, fingering and to see how well they knew the keyboard.  Although it is a process, many of our students are on their way to mastering the keyboard.
