Kindergarten - Students heard my favorite Thanksgiving book - Thanksgiving at the Tappleton's.
We viewed two versions of the book - the original published version and the re-print. Although the illustrations were different, the text was exactly the same, as was the story.
First Grade - We began working on a service project which involved decorating "thankful" feathers/leaves which will be used to make table decorations for the Thanksgiving lunch next week.
The final products will be a surprise for the students - they are going to be turkeys and the students made the feathers.
Second Grade - Second graders are also contributing to our service project involving making decorations for the Cafe for our Thanksgiving luncheon - they are making festive signs for the walls. To support their typing lessons, students were also introduced to making text boxes in Microsoft Word. They will be continuing working on this skill which will support one of their case study products.
Third Grade - Third graders are working in Google Classroom creating rock and mineral trading cards. Google Classroom is a learning management system that allows students to log in and receive assignments. As they work on their assignment, everything is saving for them so that they can log in and off at any location and always have their work available.
