Kindergarten and First Grade - In honor of National Poetry Month, students listened to a variety of poems and from a variety of poets. They learned that not all poems rhyme and that there are different types of poetry books. Some books are collections of poems by the same author while others are "anthologies" or collections of poems by different people. We have a large collection of poetry books in the Winnona Park library. Parents may check out up to five books at a time.
Second and Third Grade - Students learned about the country of Cuba and the collection of hand-made artists books belonging to Senora Rodes, our Spanish teacher. You can find more information about these books at this website - http://vigia.missouri.edu/. Additional books from Senora Rodes' personal collection are displayed at the Decatur Public Library during the month of April.
