In the Media Center - Week of March 9th

Kindergarten and First Grade - Students listened to the book, "Z is for Moose", an ABC book.  In the book, Moose really, really wanted to be in the variety show.  He started loosing his patience around the letter, "D", then he became angry when he was skipped over for "M", then sad and finally, happy.  This prepared the students for next week's activity where kindergarten students will decorate a letter of the alphabet and first graders will "hide" them around the school.

Second Grade - Students listened to this video about using the dictionary.  We practiced together by answering some of the questions at the end.  Next week we will do a hands-on activity with different types of dictionaries.

Third Grade - The theme of this week's lesson was "Powerful Passwords."  Students learned about 10 tips for creating "powerful passwords" and then created an example for themselves.  This lesson was taken from the Common Sense Media website - a great resource for parents.
