In the Media Center - Week of March 16th

There's a Moose on the Loose

All students will be looking for letters around the school.  Beginning next Monaday, March 23rd, and continuing every day next week, the moose and letter "Z" shown above will be hidden somewhere in the school.  The class that finds it will deliver it back to the library and receive the moose beanie baby for the day.

Kindergarten - Students decorated their letters today in preparation for the first graders who will be hiding them.  They used colored pencils and could draw on both sides of the letters.  Students have started to find the letters posted all around the school.

First Grade - Students took the kindergartener's letters and posted them around the school.  They also began to notice the letters everywhere and were very excited about it.

Second Grade - Stations were set up in the library for students to practice their dictionary skills.  They received a list of words and looked them up in a student dictionary and on a website.  I did explain to them that by the time they are in high school or college, they probably would only be using the electronic dictionary.  Some students chose the challenge of using the unbridged dictionary.
