Personal Review: This is very useful site for both teachers and Media Specialists. I am using it to get lesson ideas for books I read in the Media Center. Teachers at my school use it when they are doing an author study in the classroom. It can also be a useful tool for collection development through use of the thematic search engine tool.

Standards:
Although this website does not have embedded standards-content, the ability to search by subject enables teachers and Media Specialists to locate books based on specific themes. There are also a large number of booklists submitted by educators, as well as references to those found online, that can be searched by grade and thematic unit.
Selection rationale: This site is designed to be a low cost way to get information about books and their authors in to schools and classrooms. It is not fancy nor is it completely comprehensive but it is useful and growing. Although much information is available on the Internet, this provides a time-saving way for teachers to access what they need. It is, in a sense, a clearinghouse for information on books and authors.
