This magazine has been in publication for 30 years.
Standards: Depending on the articles and subjects, it could appeal to a variety of language arts and science standards. We primarily use it for pleasure reading.
Selection rationale: We already subscribe in our Media Center and students enjoy reading it. I like that it is not gender-specific although it does primarily appeal to animal lovers. I found out through the website that you can access Online Educator's Guides which looked very interesting. We offer magazines to students for pleasure reading and in particular, if they forgot their books, they can read magazines while their classmates make their book selections.
