Brief Description of Content: An illustrated biography on the life and achievement of Susan B. Anthony
Personal Review/Selection rationale: This is an example of a book I would recommend for the Media Center as well as for classroom libraries. If a teacher wanted to use it as an AR book, he/she would do a read aloud and then have the class either take an AR test together, or have each student take the AR test based on the read aloud. The class could have a discussion about it which would help reinforce understanding. Although third grade students could read more simple books about a given topic themselves, books such as this are much more interesting and engaging. This book was published by Picture Window Books which seems to have books on standards in general. I will search for additional ideas on their website.
