Personal Review/Selection rationale: This is one in a series of books "About ..." various species of animals. A link to the publisher's website for other title ideas can be found here. A compliment to the non-fiction books that are tied to standards are books such as this. They are interesting, about subjects of interest to young children, and are within the reading level of kindergarten through third grade students. It supports the desire of our third grade teachers whereby their students read, and take AR tests on non-fiction books. The books need to have a reading level of 3.5 or below, be interesting and appealing to third graders.
